"The goal of our research is to understand the functions of the polymeric protein modification poly(ADP-ribose) -- or pADPr -- on various aspects of cell biology such as cell division and stress responses. This image shows the colocalization of pADPr with polyA mRNA and G3BP at stress granules, a novel discovery made in our lab. HeLa cells were stressed with 100uM Arsenite to induce oxidative stress and stained with antibodies against the stress granule marker G3BP (blue), pADPr (red), and Alexa Fluor 488-labeled oligo dT to stain for mRNA (green)."
