"This image shows biofilm formation by a bacterium strain isolated from cheese. Too often microoorganisms are considered dangerous and deleterious to our health. Yet most of them are not pathogenic and play a fundamental role in our daily life and the life of our planet. Biofilm formation by microorganisms is a very important universal biological phenomenon that is very relevant to biology and medicine."
