The image shows the nano-bio interface between red blood cells and nano-electrode array. Nano-electrode array were fabricated with modern nanofabrication techniques. Red blood cells were cultured on top of the nano-electrodes. The nano-bio-interface was observed with scanning electron microscope (SEM).
My work is developing nano-devices for the diagnostics and treatments of human diseases such as diabetes or cancer. The understanding of the nano-bio interface between nano-electrode and different cell types is imperative for the successful applications of nano-electrical devices in biomedicine.
