These images depict a snapshot of a growing mouse colon tumor at the cellular level. This project takes advantage of our expertise in mouse modeling of cancer (Yilmaz lab) and single cell sequencing (Regev Lab). In [this image], we show Lgr5+ cancer stem cells together with CD45+ immune cells. There is great interest in understanding how the immune system regulates cancer formation and progression. By probing for cancer stem cells and immune cells, we are examining how the immune system regulates cancer stem cell function.
